Pro Basketball comes to Tulsa:
The Tulsa team, Tulsa 66ERS (of the NBA Development League also known as the “D-League”) name and logo reflect the Route 66 theme.  Tulsa owner is David Kahn (Southwest Basketball) and Joe Berry will be the president of the Tulsa team, and Joey Meyer former Head Coach of DePaul University with coach the 66ers.

Tulsa 66ERS will play Albuquerque November 18th at the Tulsa Expo Square Pavilion. From November to April the Tulsa 66ERS are scheduled to play Albuquerque, Ft. Worth, Fayetteville, Roanoke, Arkansas, Austin, and  Florida at home and away in an estimated forty game schedule. Contact team for current information.

A 8,000 seat arena being built downtown for $141 million.  This is part of the “Vision 2025” project funding.  The 570,000 square foot facility will be able to handle concerts, basketball, hockey, football and other events. The project is a design by architect Cesar Pelli.  Completion is expected in 2007 or 2008.
